My name is Beverley Parker. I was born in Halifax west Yorkshire in 1965. I met my husband Julian at school and we have been married since 1988. We have 3 Children – 2 boys and a girl, born in 1991,1994 and 1997.
Before I had my own children I trained as a Nanny (NNEB qualified) and worked in London for a professional family for 3 years until the birth of my first son. After his birth I worked in a Day Nursery and then became a Registered Child minder. This was a full time job and I cared for children long and short term while my second son and daughter were born.
I have also worked for Children’s World and Mothercare World as a store Manager.
I was also involved with the local branch of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) for many years and was part trained as a Breastfeeding Counsellor.
I began my doula training in June 2007 with Nurturing Birth, and qualified as a Recognized Birth Doula in 2009. I have since then supported several families both postnatally and as a birth doula . My local hospitals are Stoke Mandeville, The John Radcliff Oxford and High Wycombe, but will consider travelling anywhere.
I live in Aylesbury and will provide support to a wide area including Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
I love supporting new parents through the exciting time that having a new baby brings about. I believe passionately that women deserve to give birth and raise their children as they instinctively know how to. I will be there to support them during that process in what ever way they desire. Their baby, their body, their choice.
I love cooking, camping, travelling, reading and swimming.
I am available for postnatal work (depending on any existing clients) between 9am and 6pm, but will also consider overnight and weekend work if required. My charges are £400.00 for a birth and £15.00 per hour for postnatal work. For overnight Night Nanny work I charge £10 per hour.
My husband and I are both registered Foster Carers and in the past couple of years we have provided occasional respite and permanent full time care for children of all ages. We are also CRB checked and approved and I am first-aid trained.
If you would like to ring for an informal chat please feel free. I look forward to hearing from you.
